PROMISES

Funny how this world goes round
People with the words profound
Saying things we like to hear
Give our ear’s a new bum steer
Promise this and promise that
To no avail, we are left flat
Give us crumbs to patch a wound
Empty hope and mournful cries
Is what we have from White Man’s lies
We live this life in endless strife
If there was a hell this would be it
Come on Ma Earth, get ride of it
In one fall swoop or mighty wave
Send this time to it’s deep grave
And I don’t care if I survive
Just so my people will live and thrive

APPALLYPTO”

Lies been told a million fold
The words went on for ages
Excuse was made, excuse was said
To mask the true intentions
They lied at will and shot to kill
Then raped an ancient people
Gold was all they ever sought
Their God was in approval

“An Inca here, a Maya there
And Oh, lets whack them Aztec’s
We’ll take their gold, a million fold
Then wipe them from existence”

“We’ll burn their books, the smoke so high”

The truth will be the White Man’s Lie……..

FAST PACED FUTILTIY

Is this my personal Hell, to watch my people die?

Fore if it is, it’s a fate worse than death.

To see my people suffer, to hear their anguished cries.

Why must I have vision, to witness a child’s tears?

There are no words of hope I can give them.

Fore I know the stark realities and I know our sad conclusion.

All I see is death, all I see is sorrow, all I see is pain and all I hear are lies.

I wear rose-colored glasses; and sadly they are tinted with blood.

And it’s the blood of my people.

It’s the blood of the First Nation.

GARY OWEN

Maybe I do not realize how crisp Gary Owen resounds within the hearts of my people. And for this, I find myself in great error.

Though I’ve lived past the point of terror, others still live within it’s axiom.

Now, I remember the face of fear.

But I can’t help but feel embittered.

Destiny befalls those who persue it.

I vow to influence history…………………

WHATS IT LIKE BEING NATIVE?

Being Native is knowing terms like Ascites, Jaundice, Hemolytic Anemia and Cirrhosis.

Being Native is watching as a loved one dies a slow a horrific death, can after can.

Being Native is knowing the true meaning of futility.

Being Native is knowing the reason why our people choose mask their sorrow in liquor.

Being Native is knowing your born into captivity and you will die in captivity.

Being Native is always wondering why other people hated us so much.

Being Native is knowing the mortician on a first name basis.

Being Native is knowing what the abuse counselor is going to say before they speak.

Being Native is wondering if you’ll ever find peace of mind.

Being Native is knowing we will never be equal.

People as me why we are so very stoic.

I tell them it’s because we ran out of tears.
